Gofan Safaris is a travel and safari company based in Nairobi, Kenya. For purposes of applicable data-protection law, Gofan Safaris is responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

• Identity and contact details, including your name, email address, telephone number, nationality and address.
• Booking and traveller details, including travel dates, itinerary preferences, accommodation choices, Kenyan ID or passport details, and details of travellers in your party.
• Payment and transaction information. Payments may be handled by third-party payment providers; we do not intentionally store complete payment-card credentials on our systems.
• Communications, including enquiries, email, SMS, call notes, WhatsApp profile information and messages sent to our business account.
• Technical information such as IP address, device and browser information, referral links, cookies and website activity.
• Operator, coupon and referral information where you participate in our partner or referral programmes.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

• respond to enquiries and prepare travel proposals;
• create, administer and support bookings;
• process payments and issue confirmations and travel documents;
• communicate service updates through email, telephone, SMS or WhatsApp;
• manage accounts, operators, referrals and commissions;
• protect our customers, systems and business from misuse;
• improve our website, services and customer experience; and
• comply with legal, regulatory and accounting obligations.

4. When we share information

We may share only the information reasonably necessary with hotels, transport providers, guides, airlines, activity providers, insurers, payment processors, communications providers, technology and hosting providers, professional advisers, and public authorities where required by law.

WhatsApp communications are also processed through Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform. Those providers handle information under their own terms and privacy practices. We do not sell your personal information.

5. International processing

Travel arrangements and the technology services supporting our business may involve processing information outside Kenya. Where information is transferred across borders, we take reasonable steps to use appropriate safeguards and limit the information to what is necessary for the relevant service.

6. Retention and security

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide services, maintain booking and financial records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements and meet legal obligations. We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect information, but no internet-based system can guarantee absolute security.

7. Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask to access, correct, restrict, object to the processing of, or delete your personal information. You may also withdraw consent where processing depends on consent and opt out of direct marketing at any time.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

Our website may use essential storage, cookies or similar technologies for security, booking continuity, referral tracking, preferences and performance. You can control cookies through your browser, although disabling essential storage may affect some website functions.

Our booking services are intended for adults. Information about a child traveller should be provided only by a parent, guardian or other authorised adult and only where required for the travel arrangement.
